There was a mini Ice Age in the 1600's, that destroyed many crops Ice Age and agriculture. We are still living in an Ice Age period; global cooling causing glaciation is the real climate change; and this period has lasted for 700 million years already. Ice sheets used to cover much of the northern hemisphere, that were caused by when snow falls and the earth cools no longer melts and piles up, too 9000 and 13,000 feet deep, and the ocean level dropped 400 feet; but that's the normal world, and the earth is moving back to that, and can last for the next 10 million years. This glaciation Ice Age Period transition may occur maybe 50 to 150 years from now, predicted by physicists; the Sun is a variable star. Some physicists, predict that the new Ice Age is here.
